Reflexology for Feet and Hands

Ask just about anybody who enjoys massage to tell you what their favorite parts are, and more often than not, they will say they love having their feet massaged. Reflexology is also an excellent option for clients who may be contraindicated for full-body massage for various reasons, or who prefer not to disrobe, making it a wonderful addition to your skill set.

Dating back to the ancient Egyptians over 5,000 years ago, reflexology works by stimulating the reflex zones of the feet and hands, dissipating energy blockages that create imbalance and restoring health and vitality. Foot and hand reflexology also promotes self-healing by stimulating the lymphatic system, encouraging the release of toxins, and reducing stress.

In addition to foot reflexology, this course covers ear and hand reflexology. Unlike typical bodywork, hand reflexology can be performed almost anywhere on the spur of the moment it is a skill you will use repeatedly.

Please note: The standard of the Reflexology Association of America for earning the title of Certified Reflexologist requires a 200-hour training and internship. This course is designed for therapists who wish to incorporate reflexology concepts into their massage practice without completing a 200-hour training, or who want to explore reflexology before making that commitment. You will earn 18 CEUs and a certificate of completion. Some jurisdictions may restrict massage therapists from performing reflexology without a 200-hour or greater reflexology training. It is your responsibility to know the laws that apply to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will your online courses work on my phone, tablet, or other device?
Yes. We invite you to take our free sample course to personally test whether the online content and streaming video work on your device.

Can I review the course materials after I've completed the test?
Yes. Even after completing the test, you will have the option to access the online course materials, print another CE certificate, or review your test results. We promise this access for at least one year. We recommend saving copies of your certificates and any downloadable PDF files you may wish to access indefinitely, as technology updates can sometimes make older data inaccessible.

Can I print the online test to work on it at my convenience?
Yes. We provide a PDF study guide containing the test questions so you can work through it at your own pace. When you are ready, you can input your answers into the online test.

What happens if I fail the test? Do I have to pay again?
No. If you fail the test, you may continue to retest until you pass at no additional charge. The test will be different each time you take it. You can print out your test results to use as a study reference before retesting.

What is the difference between cognitive and kinesthetic courses?
Cognitive courses teach concepts related to massage therapy but do not teach specific hands-on techniques. Courses such as ethics, pathology, anatomy, and research are classified as cognitive. Kinesthetic courses teach specific hands-on techniques that you can use on clients during a massage therapy session. Some states limit how many kinesthetic courses can be completed in an online or home-study setting. Refer to our State Guidelines page for specifics about your state.

Do you report course completions to the NCBTMB, ABMP, AMTA, or other agencies?
None of these agencies have a method for us to report to them on your behalf. They prefer that you provide evidence of your CEs as detailed in their individual renewal processes. CE Broker is the only reporting agency available to us at this time.
