Course Overview
Essential oils are one of the most powerful tools a massage therapist can add to clinical practice and one of the most misunderstood. Aromatherapy is far more than a pleasant scent in the treatment room.
It is a therapeutic modality with a long history of use for physical, emotional, and psychological well-being, backed by growing evidence on how plant-derived compounds interact with the body’s olfactory system, nervous system, and bloodstream.
When paired with massage therapy, aromatherapy amplifies the healing potential of every session. The right oils can deepen relaxation, reduce inflammation, relieve muscle tension, support circulation, and address emotional aspects of stress and pain.
This course covers 32 essential oils in clinical depth including therapeutic properties, applications, contraindications, blending principles, scent profiles, skin type appropriateness, and note classification. You will learn how to assess clients, create custom blends, and integrate aromatherapy into your existing massage practice.
